Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American photojournalist and journalist who has covered the natural and military disasters of nearly 45 years. Her focus is on the suffering of people living in these regions. Curry has reported from the conflict zones of Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo and the Central African Republic. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in the city of the city of Agana) is an American television reporter, anchor and journalist. Curry was best known as a correspondent on the Today Show, a daily morning news show broadcast by National Broadcasting Co. Curry became known in particular for her reporting on human rights crises, natural disasters and other emergencies that occurred within war-torn areas. Curry was born in Japan and was educated by an Japanese mother. Her father was an U.S. Navy sailor. Her father dated her mother in Japan as a stationed there after World War II. Her father was a member of the military and her family moved around a lot. Curry completed her high school in Ashland Oregon. In 1978, she graduated at in the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. The exposure she received to a variety of cultures and experiences in her early years probably contributed to her empathy in her approach to global issues. Curry did not have the opportunity to be a student at a particular school in San Diego, Alameda Oregon or Virginia during the two-year period, due to her family moved often. She finally graduated with honors from Ashland high school. Her path to an enviable career after she started her broadcasting career as a student intern at KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon, eventually becoming the first news reporter female in the station's history at the young age of. She subsequently moved to the position of an anchor and reporter for KGW which was an NBC station in Portland, Oregan. After four years she moved to Los Angeles and became a reporter for KCBS TV. The two Emmy Awards were won during her time with TV station KCBS.
